Yachting & Malta
The Maltese archipelago is made up of Malta, her sister island of Gozo, and little Comino.
Malta is a member state of the European Union, with a political and economically stabile environment, a sound legal and financial system and a population of 400,000.
Conveniently situated in the center of the Mediterranean, Malta is an ideal spot for yachts to stop and use the various modern facilities, as well as to spend time relaxing and cruising the crystal clear waters around the islands.
If you are planning a visit to Malta, think RLR yachting. We will be willing to represent you as your agent. Simply contact us - send us your yacht’s specifications and your details and leave the rest to us. We will reserve a berth for the yacht, and we’ll see you when you’re here.

Royal Malta Yacht Club
The Royal Malta Yacht Club has a deep commitment to the yachting tradition.  Founded in 1835, the RMYC is the only Yacht Club in Malta, and is also the founding member of the Malta Sailing Federation. With two of RLR’s founding members, John Ripard & Captain Paul Ripard, having had an active role on the RMYC’s committee for a number of years, RLR has a special relationship and strong ties with the club.

The RMYC is member controlled and each full member has a voice in the use and care of the club's facilities and services. Membership spans age and professional experience.  In this private, year-round club, the only limitation is how much members want to participate.  Whether a member owns a boat or not, the Royal Malta Yacht Club offers the benefits of a private social club with extraordinary services and facilities.

Rolex Middle Sea Race
The Rolex Middle Sea Race is synonymous with yachting in Malta. Once again two of RLR’s founding members, John Ripard & Captain Paul Ripard, were two of the main people behind the inception of this great race. Today the Rolex Middle Sea Race has become the number one offshore event in the Mediterranean yachting calendar.
The first Middle Sea Race was held on Saturday 30th November 1968 and was won by John Ripard onboard his yacht Josian, a 36-foot sloop. From its inception the Middle Sea Race, although with a shy 8-yacht entry list, attracted world famous yachts such as Stormvogel the 73-foot ketch owned by C. Bruynzee. The 2006 edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race attracted a record 68-strong fleet that was made up of world famous yachts such as the maxis Morning Glory, Alfa Romeo, ABN AMRO One and Maximus, to mention just a few.
